Recycled dresser

March 23rd, 2008 at 06:15 pm

Today I finished painting a dresser that was handed down to my wife and I from my in-laws. It turned out great and I used a colonial red, which blends in well with my son's boyish red, blue, and white room. In all I felt really good about the project, we recycled, and it has a great rustic look. I told my wife tonight that I really feel like our house is really starting to come together. The next project I need to do to get ready for the baby is install a murphy bed cabinet in our basement so we can move our spare bedroom bed downstairs! Should be a fun project.

one man's junk is anothers treasure. I am glad that were able to use the dresser. I have one that I plan on painting myself...good for you

Bet it was fun and satisfying. In my life second hand dressers have been hard to come by. Don't know why.

    Pictures please!

Of all three projects - new baby, dresser & murphy bed. Big Grin
Are you going to plant the tree on your goal list on the day the baby is born? My family does that. It's pretty cool, to look outside and say, that's my tree.

That's a good idea luxlivingfrugalis! I think I might plant a tree on the day my son is born.
