Yesterday Arby's had a deal that if Matt Kenseth won a Busch/Nextel race then you could get a medium curly fries for free.

So got them for free and had a coupon for 99cent jr roast beefs (got two). So I went out with my son and bought them for mom and suprised her! Nice cheap meal for a great wife!

Well today we able to go yet another day in 2007 without spending - #9!! Had a good morning...ran 14.8 miles in rain and heavy winds, wife worked a couple of hours at Sylvan Learning Center, and got to take a tap during son's nap time.
We are suppose to get 6 to 10 inches of snow tonight, but I don't know how accurate they are on that! So I have my doubts!
Also checked online on where our closest public library is at, and will probably take son their on Monday to get my first card and check out a book or two and a video. Was hoping they'd have "America's Cheapest Family Gets You Right on the Money" but checked online and they don't have it. Saw that book at borders last night.
Lastly, the wife and I got a baby sitter last night and were able to go on a nice date! It was a ton of fun!

Well Sunday we were able to go another day without spending anything - day #8 in 2007!! Yeppy!
Also went to see the in laws over the weekend, so I turned down our heat to 63 and turned off water heater to save some more money.
Does anyone else have any other money saving tips on what they do when they go on vacation?
The mother-in-law (CPA) finished our taxes this weekend and it turns out we are getting $3144 back this year, which is going to go exclusively towards finishing out our basement.
This week I have goals of 1) buying some waterproof sealant for our basement walls, 2) talk to co-worker about refinishing a dresser, 3) layout more details on basement finishing, 4) run 16 miles on Saturday, and 5) get a babysitter for Friday night so wife and I can go on date.

Ok I'm all for paying a little more for my utilities to keep my house warm in the winter, but seriously! $192 for gas? That is outrageous!
We were doing pretty good this past with $48 for Electric and $12 for water. This total screws up our budget for utilities, but we'll make it work! Looks like no food for a week now!
haha
Anyone else had high utilities bills? We only have about a 1700 sq ft house too.

We'll after having gone 17 days without a no spend day we were able to finally go on day without spending any money again. This has sure been a long dry streak for us and hopefully we can get back in the groove. I actually needed to go out get some sloppy joe mix, but opted not to, just because we wanted to record a no spend day.
Ran 7 miles today in the gym. My leg is kind of hurting from the road race this weekend.

Well the last three days the wife and I have been trying to have a no spend day, but that hasn't been able to happen. Reason being, the 2 1/2 year old has been sick and we've been having to get little things from the store everyday this week (which is an acceptable reason). He just broke his temperture this morning and he is playing all around the house today. It is always nice to see your kid playing normal again after being sick. He's still has a nasty cough, but hopefully that will improve the next couple of days.
Also called wife's school loan company, which we've been paying extra payments on for the past two months. I look today and they were suppose to have taken out February's normal amount, but my extra payments have pushed out the due date. So it looks like there is no way of paying extra principal each month online.
I'm sure we'll work it out and get that resolved quick!
