Compact Flourescent bulbs

January 6th, 2007 at 01:05 pm

Yesterday I ordered 30 compact flourescent bulbs to put in my house on ebay. This will help save a ton of money in the coming five years in wattage usage and also help save the environment. I truely believe our world is experiencing global warming and I'm going to do everything I can to help.

Also this summer I'm going to try and run to and from work a couple of times a week to save on gas and CO2 emmissions.

The prices on those things seem to be coming down a lot in recent months, which is great. I have changed most of my bulbs to the compact flourescents too. I have even put them in lamps, where the shade is made to clip on a regular lightbulb, and it worked out okay.

We've got several of these in use and we have a few more lamps to add them to. Wal-Mart sells them really cheap, especially when you buy a bulk pack.

    Wow, 30 huh?

    Congrats on the haul.

Put one (a daylight model, really, really bright) in our lawn lamp outside a few months back. A neighbor wanted to know if I was trying to light up the whole neighborhood or just getting an early start on Christmas. He couldn't believe it actually costs less to use Smile
